Heartbroken and grieving
The same thing happened to me at Puppy Depot in coram, NY. I bought a Yorkie pup- Scooter and after a few days he developed cherry eye. Had that taken care of and a few days later what I thought was kennel cough the coram Vet let me know it was not and that scooter would die. I bought him to West Hills Vet in Huntington and they told me he would be a hacker all his life but would live. He has to be hospitalized and when he came home had to keep him on meds and do postural drainage on him! This is a treatment I did for my daughters who had cystic fibrosis and had just passed at this time. I cried my eyes out doing the treatments going back and forth to Puppy depot to voice my concerns and tears. Jordan did nothing! Ignored me after I spent $1100 for Scooter to help me with my grief! My 1st daughter passed Oct 2008, my Yorkie gizmo died passed in March 2009, may I purchased Scooter, June my second daughter passed and November 2010 Scooter passed! I had him nine months doing treatments that were like my daughters! What a shame to take advantage of someone grieving so heavily! Glad they are out of business but I believe somewhere they have reopened under a different name operating much the same way they had. Terribly sad!

Worked at a puppy depot in savannah, georgia and it was aweful
None of the managers or other workers picked up the fecal matter for any of the dogs but me most of the time when I was working with them, and the manager named Wes or West came across racist and so did the assistant manager. She laughed when two men came up to attack me in violent words of accusations about my ancestors. In panic I apologized while she and the other worker(s) laughed while I was in terror and fear. Right after, one of the workers gave me a look of disgust. Every day I was the only other race and given disgusted faces. It was a hostile place and not the only place I encountered people who were racist or discriminatory and abusive. I am happy that I have this to report them. I stand by my memories and truth.

Puppy Depot in L.I Coram NY
I live in the Riverhead area. I was engaging in a conversation with my brother about puppies. I told him that I wanted to get a puppy since I moved in into my new apartment (Mom didn't want puppies in her house). So my brother said "Oh, I know this puppy place around the corner from me." I've passed Puppy Depot several times, but never went inside. Later on that evening, I went to Puppy Depot with my brother. Before I even walked in I got bad vibes. The store itself looked dirty and ran down. But I figured I would still give it a look. I went inside. Immediately was greeted by staff and the lil cute store pup. Some of the puppies I seen was a bit pricey. I finally found a pup that I was interested in, a poodle. She tried to charge me a arm and a leg at first, after telling her I wasn't interested and I planned on going somewhere else. She showed me other pups that I told her I wasn't interested in. Then she assured me that she would give me a good deal on the poodle. Immediately I put a $100 down payment. After, I went home. I got online and put Puppy Depot in Coram in the search bar on yahoo. And came upon this page. And I read ALL the BAD things people had to say. Then I thought about how people said the puppies were sick. When I was in the store, I figured the puppies were just tired. But the were SICK. But when I asked the lady, why the puppies looked the way they did. She EVEN said they probably were tired. I felt *** because I knew I wouldn't be able to get my money back. Someone wrote they sued Puppy Depot, and that was enough for me to decide not to get the poodle. Now I know to look up stuff like this before giving money. Instead, I went to Puppy Experience in Hampton Bays which gave me a better deal and assured me if anything was wrong with the puppy after taking it to the VET they would refund my money, or I could pick a new pup. I purchased a mini Daschund and hes so great & cuddly. So I don't recomment Puppy Depot to anyone. And I've had him for 4 weeks now. So eff Puppy Depot :(

Yesterday I bought my puppy from today he is sick with pneumonia
Yesterday I bought my Lhasa Apso from puppy depot and today the vet diagnosed her with pneumonia from kennel cough she also has a double ear infection and a high fever. I called puppy depot and they did nothing about it. I left her in the animal hospital to let her get better and paid for her days she will be staying. Shes getting physical therapy for breathing and other treatment. People who earn hard cash from jobs or where ever you get your money becareful when getting a puppy at puppy depot because you might wind up getting a sick puppy like I did.

Puppy Depot sells sick animals.
I too got a sick puppy from Puppy Depot. In 2004 I went to Puppy Depot in Coram and puchased a Jack Russell. He seemed fine until a few days after we took him home. My puppy had developed a cough aka "kennel cough". I called Puppy Depot to ask what I should do and they said it was normal and the dog would get better on its own. Well after a few more days my dog seemed worse. He wasn't eating and coughing so bad he could barely catch his breath. Fearing he wouldn't make it through the night I rushed him to the best vet on the Island out in Riverhead. They charged me $144.00 and we left with several medications my puppy stayed on for about 10 days. He got better and turned out fine. It is the law in NY that a pet store has pay back any expenses to the new owner if the dog is sick within 14 days of purchase. Puppy Depot wanted to know why I hadn't used they're vet but refunded my money anyway. To me it is fishy that a pet store has they're own vet they want you to use. Beware of Puppy Depot, you can get a nice dog from them but dont be suprised if it is sick. I got lucky some people have bought animals that have died.

I too am a victim ~ Puppy Depot~ sold me a SICK puppy, luckily I have a decent Vet who got her back
I bought a cairn terrier puppy last year~07. I took him home , fell in love and discovered the puppy wasn't breathing right so I went back to the store and they said I could have him checked out by their Vet who then told me the puppy had numerous health problems, including Giardia, heart condition, mange etc. He told me to go back across the street and get my money back the dog was really sick. Well as you can only imagine, my heart was broken I had already fallen in love with the pup. I went across the street to bring the puppy back and was met with a woman who told me I signed an agreement and I could get another dog of equal or lesser value...like it was a toaster or something...very cruel very hard woman who couldn't understand why I was so upset. In my breakdown..I was hysterical crying, called my husband...he said well do you want another dog?..I was too upset to realize what these horrible people were up to! Now I had to pick another dog. I picked a westie which NOW they said it would be an adoption because the pup was 4 months old....well she was sick too!...I took her to my Vet and with lots of time and money we were able to nurse her back to health, she had Giardia as well...(a VERY catching disease) We had a hard time putting weight on the pup because she was so sick for 3 or more months. I also had to treat my Cairn that I had at home since he was near both pups!...Yeah I'm PiSSED! That place should be closed down...I've heard enough stories from other people that would make you throw up! It's a shame that people are making money off animal lovers and they should be punished ...all their pups probably come from mills! On my receipt they were so nervous...I guess they thought I would call the Better Bussiness bureau...they said she was a he! That's a big mistake to make on legal papers...don't you think? How do I know that that is the dog I purchased??? We don't! I just know he's got a horrible reputation...If you're reading this...KNOW you shouldn't buy dogfood from this theif!

Got a bad feeling at puppy depot
my family and i went to puppy depot yesterday (sunday) 8-17-08. we thought the puppies were cute however, my brother wen't behind a door thinking it was the rest room and to his surprise there were a ton of pit bulls with huge, huge heads, barking like crazy. one of the guys who worked there got so mad as if no one was suppose to see these dogs. the dogs were not out in the open for the public and it seemed odd that the dogs were in a dark back room! too many dogs for them to handle! we felt sorry for them and seeing those pit bulls in the back room left a bad taste in our mouth.

Raised the price of a kitten when I went to purchase it.
My daughter wants a kitten for her birthday, I found one at the PUPPY DEPOT in Coram NY. I brought my son back that same day (6/20/08)to get his opinion on the kitten and we both decided this was the perfect kitten for my daughter. We were told that it would cost with tax $162.00. The guy helping me said that he will hold on to it so no one will buy it. I came back the next day (6/21/08) with my daughter to purchase this kitten. And after the guy took all my information he then went to give the kitten to the back to get all ready to take home. Then all of a sudden he comes back to me and tells me that the kitten is $295.00. The price of this one kitten jumped up because he knew I was very much interested in it. Can you please help me get this kitten at the original price ($162.00) I was told. My daughter fell in love with this kitten and it just breaks my heart. I took pictures of the sign on the glass window which the kitten was in. The sign also explains the information about how much the kitten costs.

My puppy died in 5 days :(
Puppy Depot and all of the people in the place are discusting. I fell in love with an adorable little puppy that had just arrived. I thought I saved him from that place .. Unfortunetly Puppy Depot bought him from a puppy mill (on the top 10 worst list by the way).. Of course we were told he was from a very good breeder from a totally different state. Our adorable puppy went from happy and frisky to deathly sick in 24 hours. On Christmas eve he went to the vet and by Christmas day was admitted to the hospital. The doctor did all that was possible but my puppy had parvovirus and was too weak to fight it off at 8 weeks old. We were told he was unfit for sale and that he would die, which he did the day before my birthday on dec. 29th. My family and I are crushed. The people at Puppy Depot sold me a very sick puppy and broke all of our hearts just in time for the holidays. Don't make the same mistake we did. Go to a breeder and get a healthy dog.. Don't help keep puppy mills in business. Trust me ... My dog spanky suffered, it was a very hard time for everyone.

Ive been in this place before not to buy a dog cause i would never support puppy mills or puppystores kno where you get ur puppy from look at the parents make sure they r in good health any breeding dog should have test done i went in there cause i was passin by nd wanted to kill some time but i dont understand how anyone could buy a puppy from there there are litterally hundreds of dogs in the one store all of them had white stuff in their noses and eyes i dont kno how anyone cant see this nd kno they r about to buy a sick puupy it is disgusting please dont support this store
Just like many other businesses - out to make money with no conscience for morals or ethics or customer service. Do you know about puppy mills?
That is likely where these dogs come from. Puppies are bred en masse and kept in tight, filthy, unhealthy conditions and then sold to pet stores that charge top dollars for dogs. Your puppy likely did not come from a reputable breeder, but a puppy mill. They deal in volume and dollars only.
They operate on premise that puppies are commodities to be bought and sold with no regard given to their health or welfare. You should probe harder into this "depot's" background and find out where they really do get their dogs.
I have purched three dogs from Puppy Depot am feel they do a good job. When we had problem teaching "Sasha" to walk on the leash, they were very helpful.
THIS is exactly why you shouldn;t purchase from places ike this...did you get a health guarantee? if so, then you have a leg to snad on, if not, you're screwed.
Hope puppy recoveres.
